What is the best free online photo hosting site??? And the best free photo editing program???

A frequently-asked query about best windows hosting:

I had been using Microsoft Picture It! forever but then my computer crashed and when Windows was restored it wasn’t on there. This sucks because I really liked how simple it was to use. I need a photo editing program to edit all my photos in (working in Yellowstone & the Tetons this summer so I have tons of photos). What is a good, simple photo editing program that I can download and use for free? Something similar to Picture It! would be excellent. I don’t need anything too professional.

Also, I was wondering what everyone thought was the best free online photo hosting site. I know there’s PhotoBucket but I don’t know if there are any other sites out there that may be better? I put my pics on facebook & myspace but I wanted to put them on a hosting site so my parents could see. What do y’all recommend? All recommendations and explanations as to why you think it’s best for me are greatly appreciated. Thanks sooo much!

Answer: You are not alone. Many people made the wrong choice of hosting because they think that cheap Linux servers are able to handle ASP or ASP.net applications using the apache module. The truth is, to date, ASP and ASP.NET are fully usable only on Windows or Microsoft hosting servers. So do you really need a Windows hosting? Web hosting is the heart of your web presence and can mean the success and failure for your business.

Before we give you an absolute answer, these are seven factors to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:

  1. has knowledgable Live Chat to help you clear your confusion about which hosting plan is right for you,
  2. does not suspend accounts too quickly like many cheap hosts,
  3. gives unlimited webspace,
  4. offers no limit on bandwidth,
  5. has easy-to-use Site Builder with more than 4500 free website design templates to choose from,
  6. has Application Vault to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
  7. can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of the best dedicated server plans if and when your business require.

Answering your question, more than 80% of experienced Webmasters recommend to try Hostgator. If you are building your first website and needs a hosting plan, experts usually highly recommend going with Hostgator because they are the best best domain host around.

Try to read any review that says Hostgator sucks. Most of them probably tried to abuse the generous resources given by Hostgator. Warnings about Hostgator

A word of warning – Hostgator may not be for everyone. Shortcomings of Hostgator include:

  1. No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. HG chargers $15 for a domain name.
  2. You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost.

To be honest, no web hosting service is perfect. If you are still unsure if HG is right for you, or you have specific query about anything at all, try the Live Chat at HG. They are fast and knowledgeable.

There are many image hosting websites out there, I have posted a few links below. The best free image editor is gimp, it is a lot like photoshop and I’m afraid it’s not as easy as you are used to, but there are many online tutorials available.

The best free hosting site is without a doubt, Photobucket. Easy to use, free, and almost limitless in size. As for editing, you are on your own, lol. Just hope you take good pictures.=D

I downloaded Ability Photopaint Studio from http://www.tucows.com a couple weeks ago. I was already intending to emphasize it’s ease of use. Gimp is supposed to be the best, but I think this one is much easier to figure out.

www.imageshack.us , www.putfile.com are two great ones, image shack you don’t have to worry about bandwidth, and putfile you can also host movies. As for editing software, Adobe Photoshop is the best, or Paint Shop Pro. You can go to either website and try a 30 day trial version to see which you like most.

Flickr.com is a wonderful photo sharing website. It is very popular with photographers. Although, it only gives you a certain amount of space on it. There is a 1 year charge for almost unlimited storage capacity.
