I’ve put Windows XP Professional onto a MacBook Pro using bootcamp, it seems to be working okay but lags a bit, I also noticed in Device Manager that there are 7 missing drivers which I thought could be causing the slowness and lagging. Installation of Boot Camp 2.1 is required before installing Windows XP Service Pack 3. I think it comes with all of the drivers preloaded.
